I’ve been thinking about getting a new camera. Actually I’ve been thinking about it for a couple of years, and maybe the time is right to go out and get the new Nikon D3100. This may be one of those situations where procrastinating is actually giving me a better deal. For about the past year or so I have been debating the D90, or the d3000 or the D5000. Of course I have considered some of the D-SLR’s from canon and sony as well.

The other day I saw the D3100 on the store shelf, and it said something like 14 megapixels. I’ve done just a little research online, and I think it is going to be my next camera. I’ve been wanting to get something digital SLR with changeable lenses for a while. I’ve had all kinds of ideas for great photographs, and having a good camera that will help me create my vision and illusions is really a must.

I just wonder how steep of a learning curve it is going to be. The price is quite reasonable for so many megapixels, and the ability to add great lenses in the future. I have only found a couple of DVDs available for learning this new camera. Hopefully there will be more out soon. Fingers crossed, maybe this will be my present to myself this year!
